Connections Are Key for Entrepreneurs and Communities to Thrive

Innovate Montana Breakout Session

Networks. Connections. Resources. Sponsors. Support. You’ve probably done this song and dance before. Anyone who’s had a career and knows their stuff is definitely going to tell you about the importance of connections. We all know that can look different depending on your field, so you may be wondering how to join these networks or what about them is unique to entrepreneurs. We have answers to these questions, and our panelists are going to tell you all about the networks for entrepreneurs called an “entrepreneurial ecosystem.” In entrepreneurial ecosystems, business and community leaders come together to provide entrepreneurs with resources and communal support.

This breakout session features speakers from around the state and in all different parts of the Montana Entrepreneurial Ecosystem but all with the same goal of connecting Entrepreneurs and growing their communities. Come and learn the nooks-and-crannies of navigating entrepreneurial networks, and find out specifically how they have helped Montanans go from idealists with a vision to innovators with a thriving industry.

Our speakers include: Abby Majerus, organizer of Heart of Montana Venture Network; Lauren Caselli, founder of Boss Lady Bash; Jenn Ewan, Vice President of Missoula Economic Partnership; and Anne Booth, Economic Development at Triangle Communications; Paul Gladen, Director of Blackstone LaunchPad at UM; Jennifer Anhalt, organizer of multiple 1 Million Cups; and Pam Haxby-Cote, Executive Director at Butte Local Development Corporation.

Without the help of these hardworking people and their organizations that empower entrepreneurs and provide them with the means to succeed, Montana would not be the hotbed of innovation and small business startup that it is today. Come hear the stories and find out how you can be a part of the Montana’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem on July 13 at 3:30 pm at the Crown Plaza Hotel.
