The good work of a team of Rocky Mountain College students has earned them a ticket to a national competition.
The nine members of Enactus will leave Saturday for St. Louis for the 2015 Enactus United States National Exposition. They will compete as finalists in two different categories for using their entrepreneurial know-how to empower others.
Enactus, an international organization, rewards college teams for enabling progress in their communities. Most members of Rocky’s team are business majors.
“We talk about helping people help themselves,” said Karen Beiser, associate professor of business administration and economics and the team’s adviser. “It’s not about charity.”
The Rocky students are focused this year on five different projects that they’ve obtained grants from corporations to undertake:
Suit Up, an on-campus boutique that collects gently used professional clothing and makes it available to students going on their first professional interviews.
