As part of Governor Steve Bullock’s Main Street Montana Project, the Innovate Montana team is hitting the road to support entrepreneurs and small business.
Innovate Montana is partnering with local communities and community organizations to bring the Innovate Montana: Small Business Roadshow across the state. The roadshow is a casual event where business owners and potential entrepreneurs can network, share ideas and learn innovative ways to start or grow a small business. All are welcome to attend.
Each roadshow is uniquely tailored to the community’s needs and wants. Innovate Montana will work closely with the community organizers to ensure that presentations and entrepreneurship panelists are suited to the individual community.
So far, program for the event has been relatively informal, leaving lots of time for networking and open discussions. The event starts between 4:30 – 5:00 pm with an open house. This is a great opportunity for a vacant building or an established store to host the community.
Next, the Innovate Montana Team will provide 1-2 brief presentations on a variety of topics including entrepreneurial spirit, online marketing, capital, and venture networks. After a little more networking, we invite businesses owners from outside the community to share their stories and answer questions. By identifying businesses that are either needed in the community or are part of a growing industry, we bring them to give a fresh perspective.
So far we have several Small Business Roadshows on the calendar; the first was Lewistown on May 19, next is Eureka on June 23 followed by Troy on June 25. Information can be found here and here. Glendive will be hosting a roadshow on July 16th ~ more information to follow.
If you, your community, or community organization would like to have a roadshow stop in your town, please feel free to call us at 406-444-5634 or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Innovate Montana will be the vehicle but your community is in the driver’s seat!
